A message from the Founder & CEO of Suhba Club

To the parents of Suhba Club

Asalamuālaikum Warahmatūllhi Wabárakatūh

Welcome to a new year at Suhba Club, to the families returning and to those stepping through our doors for the very first time.

In 2023, Suhba Club began with a small handful of homeschooling families. Today, Walhamdulillāh, that small beginning has grown into a community of more than a hundred families across East London. Our Tower Hamlets branch continues to grow and this month with Allah’s tawfīq, we open our doors in IG.

None of this came from a plan on paper. It has been built through the dedication of the Suhba Club team, the commitment of our teachers and the partnership of parents who have supported us and helped shape the community along the way.

“Where young Muslims grow up grounded — together.”

This is more than a tagline. It captures what Suhba Club is about. Suhba means companionship and the people our children grow up around can have a lasting influence on who they become. We want to create an environment where young Muslims can grow grounded in their Islam, surrounded by good friends, positive role models and mentors.

That is what makes Suhba Club different. We are not a school, an academic platform, an after-school club or simply a drop-off programme. There are excellent providers doing that work and we recognise their important role.

As Suhba Club grows, we want to remain true to this purpose. Our priority will be quality over quantity, strengthening what we already have and developing programmes around the changing needs of our families. Our ambition is not simply to grow bigger, but to grow better.

What I ask of you

A club cannot raise a child alone. A community can and community is not something an organisation provides; it is something we build together. So I ask three things.

Partnership. What our children hear and experience in Suhba Club should be supported and reinforced at home. When parents, teachers and the Suhba team work together, our children receive the stability and consistency they need to grow with strong foundations.

Communication. Please stay connected through the relevant WhatsApp groups and speak to us early if you have a concern or something is not working. We value open communication and would rather have an honest conversation than see a family quietly disconnect.

Du'ā. For our teachers, our staff & volunteers and above all, for our children. There are things no programmes can achieve without the help of Allah.

To every teacher who prepares long before the children arrive and every team member working quietly behind the scenes, Jazākumallāhúkhairan. Your effort may go unseen; its impact, inshā'Allah, will outlast the hours you give.

To the families who were with us when we were small, you helped lay the foundations upon which this community continues to grow.

And to every family joining for the first time: welcome to Suhba Club. You are not simply joining a programme. You are joining a wider network of families who are on the same journey, supporting one another, sharing experiences and creating opportunities for our children to grow together. We are delighted to have you with us and look forward to building this community together.

May Allah place barakah in Suhba Club, protect our children and strengthen their īmān. May He accept from us all and keep this a place where young Muslims grow up grounded — together. Āmīn.
