The Secret to Receiving More from Allah This Ramadhan

Suhba Club Editors

Ramadan is more than just a month of fasting, it is a golden opportunity to reset, realign and elevate ourselves spiritually, mentally and emotionally.

The more you desire nearness to Allah, the more He bestows upon you.

Every moment in Ramadan is precious, every act of worship magnified and every sincere effort met with divine reward.

The question is….

How much do you truly desire it?

How deeply do you crave His mercy, His guidance, His closeness?

The secret to receiving more from Allah lies in two powerful pillars: Ibadah (Worship) & Personal development

Ibadah (Worship) - عبادة

Ibadah is the foundation of our relationship with Allah.

When our worship is done with sincerity and intention, it becomes a means of purification for our hearts and a way to earn Allah’s favour.

Here are 6 things you can focus on this Ramadan to enhance your ibadah.

1. Intentions

Intend to be among those freed from Hellfire, to draw nearer to Allah’s Throne, and to cultivate the habit of fasting beyond Ramadan. When intentions are strong, rewards are boundless.

2. Reciting the Qur’an

The Qur’an purifies like nothing else. Aim to complete at least one khatam (full recitation). Let it be your anchor, your companion, your guide. Recite in your free moments - its light will enter your heart before you even realise it.

3. Dhikr: Keep the Heart Awake

A tongue moist with dhikr leads to a heart brimming with peace. Say SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar, and Astaghfirullah frequently. Ramadan is the month where the remembrance of Allah flows like a river; immerse yourself in it.

4. Salah: The Sweetest Escape

Ibn al-Qayyim emphasised that time in sujood is when you are closest to Allah. If you have a free moment, use it for two rak’ahs; you never know which prayer could change your destiny.

5. Charity: The Ultimate Investment

Give freely and give often. Ramadan is the month of generosity and the Prophet ﷺ was the most generous in this time. Give not just online, but physically - hand your sadaqah to those in need, feed the hungry, uplift the oppressed. Your giving is your imaan in action.

6. Dua: Knock on the Doors of Mercy

Ramadan is the month of acceptance. Pour your heart out to Allah, ask for everything, big or small. The one who begs from Allah is the one who truly knows His Lord.

Personal Development - تربية

Our character reflects our inner state and serves as a measure of our closeness to Allah.

When we strive to refine our character, we bring ourselves closer to Allah’s commands and distance ourselves from His prohibitions

Here are 6 key areas you can focus on this Ramadhan to enhance your personal development:

1. Suhba: The Power of Righteous Companions

The people you surround yourself with will shape your path.

True friends are those who will ask about you on the Day of Judgment if they don’t see you in Jannah. Seek out those who remind you of Allah and remember you in their duas.

If your friends don’t help you get closer to Allah, it’s time to reconsider your circle.

2. Feed People: A Shortcut to Barakah

Feeding others is one of the fastest ways to gain Allah’s favor. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Feed the people, spread peace and you will enter Jannah with ease."1 Even the angels testify for those who feed others. Cook, share, and serve meals - it could be the deed that grants you forgiveness.

3. The Art of Giving Gifts

Islam isn’t just about obligations; it’s about connections. The Prophet ﷺ taught that exchanging gifts increases love. Surprise a neighbor, send a thoughtful present, and strengthen ties.

Small acts have immense rewards.

4. Control Your Tongue and Temper

Ramadan is a shield. It protects you; if you let it. Guard your words, avoid arguments and when provoked, respond with, "I am fasting." 2

This is not just about food, but about self-discipline.

5. Gratitude: The Key to More

Ramadan teaches us contentment. Every sip of water at iftar, every bite of food, every moment of ease is a gift.

Say Alhamdulillah constantly and Allah will increase His blessings upon you.

6. Patience: The Path to Strength

Fasting builds resilience. It teaches us to endure hardship with resilience, to trust that relief follows difficulty.

When you master patience, you master life.

A Month of Infinite Possibilities

The more you desire Allah, the more He will give.

This Ramadan, let your heart truly awaken.

If you truly want to change, this is your chance,
