The Burāq: A Mount That Made Distance Disappear
Mohammad Zayd

al Burāq is awhitemount, larger than a donkey and smaller than a mule, described in one wording aslong, with a stride so vast that itreached as far as its sight. The Prophet ﷺrodeit on the Night Journey toBayt al Maqdis, where hetethered it to the ring used by the Prophets
The Burāq wasn’t just a mount. It was a sign from Allah.
On the Night Journey the Prophet ﷺ travelled in a way that no one could do by themselves. The Burāq was made for this mission. It moved so fast that the horizon felt close, like Allah made the distance smaller.
The Prophet ﷺ did not choose the Burāq. Allah chose it for him. That is what makes it special. It shows that Allah supports His Messenger ﷺ in the best way and at the perfect time.
So this journey was not only about speed. It was about honour and help. Allah was teaching the Ummah that when He wants something to happen, He creates the means for it even if it seems impossible to people.
The Burāq teaches me that I should not doubt Allah’s power. When Allah wills it, what feels far away and difficult can become easy and close even in a single night.
